Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Real Check ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

Real Check estimates whether submitted content (image, video, audio, text, or a linked piece of media) was generated or manipulated by AI, and returns a verdict, a confidence score, and a supporting summary.

2. Detection is probabilistic — not a guarantee

Results are estimates, not definitive proof. AI detection can produce false positives (authentic content flagged as AI) and false negatives (AI content flagged as authentic). The per-dimension breakdown is an interpretive aid, not an independent forensic measurement. Do not rely on Real Check as the sole basis for any decision with legal, financial, reputational, or safety consequences. Always corroborate with the original source and other signals.

3. Your account

You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit content you have no right to upload or analyze.
• Upload unlawful, infringing, or abusive material.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the Service or its rate limits.
• Use the Service to harass, defame, or deceive others.
• Resell or redistribute the Service without our written consent.

5. Content & rights

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a limited license to process it solely to provide the Service (including sending it to our detection provider). Handling and retention of submitted content are described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (including the Hive Moderation detection API and Google/Apple sign-in and push services). Their availability and behavior are outside our control.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Real Check and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any decision made in reliance on a detection result.

9. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the app.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes are reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
